Senegal: Avid And StudioTech Revamp TV News Production For RTS Senegal

RTS Senegal is experiencing a transformation by standardising their end-to-end news production workflow that can now seamlessly support HD and SD formats in a highly flexible and fast-turnaround environment.

RTS, headquartered in Dakar (the capital of Senegal in Africa), was broadcasting across four TV channels with an outdated architecture that was cumbersome and expensive.

According to Boubou Sall, Director of New Technologies, RTS Senegal said: “We were in dire need of a system that would reduce time-to-air, free up our staff for more creative work and help us grow without a lot of additional expenses. Coming to Avid and its distribution partner, Studiotech helped us resolve this problem. We now have an integrated ecosystem that erased our traditional approach, and we are now enabled to meet the demands of news production better today.”

Tom Cordiner, the Senior Vice President of Global Sales, Avid said: “As a member of our international customer community, RTS believed that we could deliver a new story-centric workflow that could be easily integrated and deployed across its sites to increase the efficiency of its 150 member production team. The transformed MediaCentral-based newsroom infrastructure of RTS now provides modern efficiencies that facilitate collaboration, maximise productivity and enable them to better meet the exacting demands of today’s competitive news environment.”
