The US tech giant, Amazon.com Inc is reportedly planning a bid for the streaming rights to the coveted English Premier League games.
Said to be part of its business strategy, the quest for EPL rights will, according to experts, bring in more premium sports content for the benefits of its global prime subscribers.
The auction for the next tranche of premiership broadcast rights are due soon, and speculation has been rife that one of the major tech giants such as Facebook or Amazon will enter the fray.
Amazon has not confirmed or debunked this new report linking them to the English Premier League rights, but the spokesperson said the company always "look to add new content for the benefit of its prime members."
