SABC Considers Disposal Of Assets In London (UK) In The Face Of Financial Meltdown
The SABC is looking at the possible sale of real estate assets in London (United Kingdom) as a result of its continuing financial downturn.
The South African Minister of Communications, Ms Ayanda Dlodlo stated the readiness to dispose of the company’s ‘’non-core-assets’’ whose real value is yet to be disclosed. This news follows a statement that the SABC has requested a R3-billion government bailout, which may face an upward review due to digitalisation.
In the meantime, more stabilising measures are being taken within SABC, including the layoff of former COO Hlaudi Motsoeneng and the selection of a new board, to ensure the smooth running of the organisation.
