Alex Okyere Named New Managing Director For MultiChoice Ghana
MultiChoice Africa appoints Alex Okyere as the new Managing Director for its Ghana operation. The Pan African Pay-TV operator says this appointment comes at a critical time for the video entertainment industry, solidifying MultiChoice's market leadership position as Ghana's beloved storyteller.
The operator, committing to providing great entertainment and investing in the future of the people in Ghana by leveraging the transformative power of media on society. Says Alex Okyere appointment as the incoming Managing Director is part of the Group's strategy to improve Ghana's activities even further.
Alex is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants in the United Kingdom and a Ghanian Institute of Chartered Accountants member. He earned a Masters from the University of Ghana in Business Administration and Finance. Before his recent appointment, Alex was the Chief Customer Officer at MultiChoice Ghana, having worked for MultiChoice in various capacities. Including Regional Finance Director for East, West, and Central Africa, Finance Director for the West & Central Africa Region, and MultiChoice Kenya Finance Director.
Okyere holds over 15 years of finance, accounting, commercial, and general management expertise in various industries and multinational companies, including MultiChoice Africa, Weatherford International, Schlumberger, Newmont, and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC).
Alex succeeds Cecil Sunkwa-Mills, the former Managing Director, who left the company on June 1. Cecil Sunkkwa-Mills has guided the company to steady expansion and a prominent position in the Ghanaian market over the last 14 years. He is leaving the business for other pursuits but will still be consulting.
