Programming: South Africa's SABC2 Launches 'The Coolest OG's' Game Show In June
The South African Broadcasting Corporation channel, SABC2, has announced its new TV game show, which will set the elderly contestants against each other whilst remaining in their homes. The show is set to start on Sunday the 6th of June at 19h30 (SAST). The show's production is at the hands of 'Rebel in Town' production company, in partnership with, G2 Connection marketing integration brand. The show will have senior citizens compete against each other to win the ultimate prize of R100 000 (US$ 6 940).
The show is said to be inviting twelve senior citizens from different cultural background across South Africa, who are then made to compete in various tasks. The task allocations will be sent via packages containing a mobile phone from which the contestants will receive their multiple missions and instruction to complete each week.
The tasks are set to be completed with the help of family members or influencers who can help them. These tasks will range from cooking, modelling, music videos, gaming, art and songwriting.
'The Coolest OG's' will face elimination after every episode. There will be four judges who have watched the result of the tasks; after that, they will discuss how the contestants performed. Gail Hoffman Parrish, the G2 Co-Founder, said the show is a social experiment with a terrific insight into older and younger generations. This merger of the ages will ensure spectacular and unforgettable TV content.
