Netflix Receives 45 SAFTA Awards Nominations

Streaming services giant Netflix has confirmed receiving 45 SAFTA awards nominations during their first year of submitting their original films and series for entry into the awards. According to reports, popular Netflix Original Blood & Water has been nominated under Best Achievement in Directing for a TV Drama and Best Achievement in Scriptwriting for a TV Drama. The show’s actors and actresses are also among the nominations for Best Actor and Best Actress categories. The sound team for the drama series has been nominated for Best Achievement in Sound for a TV Drama.

Netflix’s Agent from Zidaka has been nominated for Best TV drama, competing with popular Netflix Original Blood & Water.

Queen Sono received nominations for Best Achievement in Scriptwriting for a TV Drama, Best Achievement in Editing for a TV Drama and the shows actors received nominations for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor in a TV Drama.

The TV Comedy film ‘How To Ruin Christmas: The Wedding’ received numerous nominations for its cast and crews. On the nominations list is Best Actress in a TV Comedy, Best Achievement in Directing a TV Comedy, Best Achievement in Scriptwriting, Best Achievement in Editing, Best Achievement in Art Direction, Best Achievement in Wardrove, Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling, Best Achievement in Cinematography, Best Supporting Actress, Best Supporting Actor and Best TV Comedy.

Other nominations for the streaming service include Best Actor in a Feature, Best Actress in a Feature, Best Factual Programme, Best Achievement in Directing of a Feature, Best Achievement in Cinematography for a Feature, Best Achievement in Sound Design for a Feature, Best Achievement in Original Score, Best Achievement in Production Design, and Best Achievement in Costume Design.

My Octopus Teacher received a nomination for Best Natural History and Environmental Programme.
