#PreserveAfricaArchives: Auditing And Preparing Broadcast Archives For Digital Preservation In Africa - Online Forum

As part of the ongoing Industry Programme on “Preserving Africa’s Sound and Audio-Visual Assets", Broadcast Media Africa (BMA) with Apricity Consulting in collaboration with key industry partners have announced the No.2 in the series of industry meetings designed to help broadcast media organisations in Africa achieve successful identification, cataloguing and preservation of their archives in a sustainable and cost-effective manner.

Announcing the new industry Forum on “Auditing And Preparing Broadcast Archives For Digital Preservation In Africa”, Mr Benjamin Pius, the CEO of Broadcast Media Africa and Principal Administration of #PreserveAfricaArchives said: “We are delighted to carry on providing the capacity development that is needed in order to make sure that legacy archive materials within our broadcast media organisations across the continent are properly dealt with”.


Ms Ilse Assmann, managing director of Apricity Consulting and also an administrator with the #PreserveAfricaArchives Programme, said "the forthcoming online forum will offer insights into the experiences of many African broadcast media organisations on the archiving and preservation journey and the new, innovative frameworks and resources that exist to help them further in achieving their archiving objectives".

The Auditing And Preparing Broadcast Archives For Digital Preservation In Africa forum will be hosted virtually on Thursday 27th May 2021 from 11h00 (GMT).

Participation will be from senior executives positions and practitioners in content preservation across many audio-visual platforms.
