Trace TV Secures Strategic Pact With Huawei Video
Trace TV, the Afro-Urban entertainment company, has announced that it has secured a strategic partnership with Huawei, a Chinese technology infrastructure provider company.
Under this partnership, Trace TV would have its video content pre-installed and integrated with the Huawei video app and made available to Huawei consumer equipment users, first in South Africa and then potentially to other markets in Africa and the Middle East.
Commenting on the partnership, Mr Sun Jun, the general manager of Consumer Business Group SA at Huawei, said, "It is with great excitement that Trace is launching as one of our premium HuaweiVideo partners in South Africa. This partnership supports our strategy to bring more choice and the best possible video experience to our device users."
Huawei said it expected that Trace content would add 10,000 hours of free content and as many paid content to the platform. The content will include genres such as movies, kids, news, sports and more.
Trace TV's Chief Executive, Mr Olivier Laouchez, commenting on the breakthrough for his organisation, said: "We are proud and delighted to have been chosen by Huawei as a strategic content partner. This will be a game-changer for many talented African artists that will share their creativity with millions of people from all over the world."
