Angola Set To Complete Migration To Digital Television By 2023 - Minister
The Angolan Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communications, Mr Manuel Homem has, in a recent statement, re-iterated the commitment of the government in Angola to complete and launch its digital terrestrial television (DTT) platform by the end of the year 2023.
The minister confirmed that work with partners is in full-flow and that the country has full adopted the Japanese-Brasilian model. He also confirmed that the digitisation and modernisation of the state-run television outfit, the Televisao Publica de Angola (TPA), is almost fully implemented. DTT signal coverage already reaches 95 per cent of all regions of the country.
The Angolan Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communications also commented that his government was already integrating the digital radio framework into digitisation's overall fabric with new signals and transmitters upgrades.
Minister Homem is confident that by 2023, the digital switchover would be completed in Angola. The country will be able to enjoy the "normal functioning of digital television and radio services".
