Nigeria: With 'US$ 30Million' Spent, "No More Excuse For DSO Delay" - Minister Told!
The Nigerian Minister of Information and Culture, Mr Lai Mohammed, has vowed that his government will now super-accelerate the country's digital switch-over (DSO) and will move to deliver migration to digital broadcasting services to cover 31 states - in a dash!
According to minister Mohammed, his new 31-states wide implementation push has the Nigerian Federal Executive Council's backing and approval and, therefore, ready to go. However, he or his department is yet to concrete details of what, when and where regarding this newly announced 31-states wide digital migration implementation plans.
The Nigerian government is, however, becoming increasingly frustrated with the DSO pace in Nigeria, having spent approximately NGN10 Billion (US$30 Million), and now, the Nigerian presidency seems to have told the minister to get a move on with no further excuses.
Minister Lai Mohammed has continued to promote the benefits of digital migration. He said that the country has already achieved some significant milestones in the digital migration journey. He also instituted another ministerial task force that will help Nigeria complete its DSO.
