Egyptian Film "Trapped" To Premiere At The American South By Southwest Festival
"Trapped", the film from Egypt has been selected to premiere within the global segment of the South by Southwest Festival which will take place on the 16th - 20th March 2021, marking the first time that content from Egypt will be showcased at the US festival in more ten years.
The film by Manal Khaled, Trapped is a film about "siege". The siege from the reality of some women's lives, as experienced from male dominance either from their fathers, husbands, government, or society. The film tells the story of the women who sought to be understood and not to be objectified.
"Trapped" has already been screened at the El Gouna Film Festival. It is directed and produced by Manal Khaled. Rasha Azab co-scripted it. And it stars Caroline Khalil, Reem Higab, Osama Abo Al Ata, Ne'ma Mohsen, Mona Mokhtar, Tharaa Goubail, Rajwa Hamed, Zeina Mansour, Habiba Effat and Fadel El Garhy.
