Kenya | Standard Group Are Official Broadcasters For Rescheduled Euro2020 Tournament
Kenyan's are now assured of watching the games of the rescheduled Euro 2020 on the terrestrial free-to-air platform after the country's media conglomerate - the Standard Group - became the new official free-to-air partner for the Euro2020 tournament.
With the deal, Standard Groups confirms that its broadcasting channels and platforms such as KTN Home, KTN News and Radio Maisha will show the games to Kenyan's free of charge. According to the chief executive officer for Standard Group, Mr Orlando Lyomu, the Euros 2020 tournament's broadcast deal is exclusive to the Standard Group and its platforms.
Also commenting on the broadcasting achievement for its company, Lyomu said, "In the past couple of years, we have demonstrated how we can support sports, and we want to continue being the preferred channel to all Kenyans. The matches will be broadcast on KTN Home, KTN News, Radio Maisha and across all our digital platforms."
The Standard Group says it was able to finalise the agreements with EUFA and bring the tournament games to its viewers due to its partnership with TV Media Sport. The Euro2020 games will be played by the 24 teams that have qualified, and the rescheduled tournament is due to take place in June 2021.
