Zap, Angolan Pay-TV Operator To Stop Distributing SIC Channels
Zap, the Angolan pay-TV satellite operator (owned by Isabel dos Santos) is suspending the broadcast of Portuguese TV channels SIC in Mozambique and locally in Angola.
According to news reports, this is coming after recent negative reports of the Angolan government by the channel.
Zap's representative in Angola, Antonia Miguel, confirmed the suspension of the channels but added no further comment. However, a source close to said they were not aware of the decision and Francisco Pedro Balsemao, CEO of parent company Impresa, was hopeful that Zap would add the SIC International Africa channel to its portfolio.
