Multichoice Studios Aims For Middle East Market With MENA.TV Deal
South Africa's Multichoice Studios has reportedly agreed with the Middle Eastern TV content market place, Mena.TV to offer its content to potential buyers from the Middle East.
According to industry analysts, TV Content Marketplace of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region is a vast market, worth about US$ 3billion and with almost 400 million people spread across 21 countries.
With the deal, Multichoice Studios would be able to list on the platform some of its more international content such as the 'The River' - an Emmy award-nominated telenovela. Other titles that could be listed would include shows like the 'Brethren', 'Unbroken', 'Gomora' and 'Isibaya' - a multi-SAFTA-winning telenovela.
The chief executive of Mena.tv, commenting on the agreement with Multichoice Studios said that: "We are already showcasing premium content from major producers from around the world, and through our partnership with Multichoice Studios mena.tv will now finally be introduced to the best of the best of African TV".
