Nigeria's TV Channel - Plus TV Africa - Gets New Chief Executive
Plus TV Africa, a Nigerian-based "Afropolitan" 24-hour television station has announced the appointment of Mr Lekan Ogunbanwo as its new chief executive officer and managing director. The announcement was made by Mr Lateef Fagbemi, the chairman of General News and Entertainment Company (GNEC) - the owners of Plus TV Africa.
Mr Fagbemi said of the appointment: "We are delighted to welcome Lekan Ogunbanwo to the helms of affairs of PlusTV Africa. As an organisation, we know that the experience which he brings to bear will help position and enhance the station's creative and premium content delivery." Responding to being appointed, Ogunbanwo said: I am prepared to up-skill the station and ensure that we have a channel that is the pride of Nigeria and, by extension, Africans."
Ogunbanwo is an alumnus of the Nigerian Institute of Journalism and will oversee Plus TV Africa to provide news content that caters to a pan-African audience seeking trusted and entertaining television programming and content.
