Nigeria's Silverbird TV Enters Sub-Licensing Deal To Broadcast The English Premier League

Silverbird TV, a Nigerian entertainment-focused television outfit said it had signed a deal that will enable it to offer one live English Premier League (EPL) game per week during the 2020-21 season, which commences in the weekend of Friday 11th 2020. The deal has been reportedly concluded with Integral, who in turn has the resell agency from Infront Sports and Media.
 
The Chief Operating Officer of Silverbird TV, Mr Bola Salako commented on this deal, saying "We at Silverbird are excited at the opportunity to avail our numerous viewers across Nigeria with select premium football matches from the most exciting league in the world – The English Premier League.
 
"Sport is a major part of our content offering and football in particular as the acclaimed 'king of sports' holds particular appeal to a large section of our target demographic. And with the new Premier League season on the horizon we are looking forward to teaming up with Integral on this exciting new project of bringing premium sporting content to mass numbers of Nigerian viewers." said Salako.
 
Silverbird TV joins the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) who also has the same arrangement with the rights re-seller. Of course, Multichoice's Supersport retains the pay-tv rights for EPL broadcasts in Nigeria.
