Apple Launches 2 New Live Global Radio Stations - Available In 165 Countries
Apple has announced the launch of two new live radio stations - named Hits and Country - that will be made available immediately to 165 countries across the globe. The brand new radio stations will play music from the 1980's, the 1990s and 2000s.
A statement from Apple's press office said that: "Radio is part of the fabric of any country's music culture and we continue to invest in live radio and create opportunities for listeners around the world to connect with the music they love."
"Now, Apple Music radio provides an unparalleled global platform for artists across all genres to talk about, create, and share music with their fans, and this is just the beginning."
Oliver Schuster, Vice President of Apple Music and International Content, said: "For the past five years if ever there was a meaningful moment in music culture, we were there bringing human curation to the forefront and drawing in listeners with exclusive shows from some of the most innovative, respected, and beloved people in music".
Apple Music will also be home to Africa Now Radio which will showcase African music and artists. Zane Lowe, Apple Music's Global Creative Director, said: "Apple Music is home - it's home to artists, it's home to fans, and it's home to incredible music".
