Canal+ And Spanish La Liga Renew Broadcast Rights Deal For Sub-Saharan Africa
The Spanish Football League (La Liga) have agreed to a deal with PayTV platform Canal+ to broadcast its football content in sub-Saharan Africa - according to reporting by DigitalEuropeTV.com.
With this tie-up, Canal+ has now joined SuperSport and StarTimes to distribute La Liga content on the continent.
The President of Canal+ International, Mr Jacques du Puy, said: "We are delighted to welcome LaLiga for another four new seasons, which completes our incomparable offer in terms of international football".
Canal+ is a four-year deal with La-Liga is now be part of its broadcast rights suite for the region, which includes the UEFA Champions League, French Ligue 1, the Italian Serie A and of course the English Premier League.
Spanish La Liga spokesperson said: "We are pleased to bring French-speaking fans of LaLiga another exciting way to discover the competition in Sub – Saharan Africa while extending our successful partnership with Canal+. These are important steps to continuing our global growth together with a historic partner who has broadcast our games in this territory for years".
