StarTimes Gets Broadcast Rights To Spanish LaLiga And UEFA League For Sub Sahara Africa
StarTimes, the pan-African PayTV network has announced the acquisition of broadcasting rights to the Spanish LaLiga and the UEFA Nations League. The agreed broadcast rights are set to start from September 2020 and right across to the 2024 season.
The rights are also for the broadcast in French Language only, and according to StarTimes executives, all the matches will be aired live in HD on its sports channels as well as on its streaming applications.
StarTimes Sports Director, Kristen Miao said of the acquisition of the rights: "We are delighted to have secured the broadcast rights to LaLiga Santander, one of the most prestigious football competitions in the world. The acquiring of LaLiga Santander shows our commitment to enrich our bouquets continually and to provide our subscribers with premium sports content."
Melcior Soler, the director of LaLiga Audiovisual department, commented that StarTimes has a strong presence in the region and proven expertise in sports in general and football in particular, which will help us all to reach as broad an audience as possible".
