Multichoice Partners With The Walt Disney Company To Bring ESPN To DStv

Multichoice Group and The Walt Disney Company Africa have agreed on a partnership that will bring ESPN sports to the DStv stable of sports programming. The agreement, according to the parties, will result in two 24-hour ESPN channels made available to DStv customers by the end of July 29.
ESPN has within its ambits most major US sports including popular content from the National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), and Major League Baseball (MLB) as well as some European football content with some live games from the English Football League (EFL), Scottish Premier Football League (SPFL), Dutch Eredivisie and Major League Soccer (MLS).
The chief executive of Multichoice Group, Mr Calvo Mawela, said with regards the agreement with ESPN: "We are unwavering in our commitment to ensure that we continue to find the best available content to delight our customers, both now and into the future. In addition to being the home of American sports, ESPN is equally well-known for its dedication to great storytelling, something we as Africa's most-loved storyteller can identify with".
