South Africa: NFVF To Support Filmmakers With Funding Offers

South Africa’s National Film and Video Foundation (NFVF) is examining a number of propositions to help and support the film industry in South Africa with the vagaries of the current coronavirus pandemic.

One of the initiatives is the call for fundable proposals that will see the revival of Drive-In outdoor Cinema experiences. NFVF is reportedly ready to offer support funding up to R150,000 (US$9000) to applicants seeking to set this up successfully.

NFVF says Drive-In cinemas are significantly more Covid-19 secure ways to provide the needed outdoor entertainment relief to communities across South Africa. The initiative is also geared to help with the creation of employment opportunities for the creative and entertainment industries in South Africa.

NFVF says the closing date for applications to this funding is Friday 24 June 2020.
