Nigeria’s Internet Penetration Soars To Just Under 140 Million
Internet penetration in Nigeria now stands at 138.7 Million as at April 2020, according to recorded reports. This data covers access from mobile, fixed wireless and VoIP platforms.
The latest statistics from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) also indicated that while the entire internet access penetration may be up, broadband penetration has remained static during the same period.
The NCC data confirmed that the bulk of internet connectivity and access in Nigeria was via the mobile networks offered by telcos like MTN, Globalcom, AIRTEL and 9mobile.
The reporting stated that the mandated target for broadband penetration in Nigeria is now 70 per cent by 2025.
