SuperSport Sees Camera And Audio Changes For Spectator-less Live Sports
After the Coronavirus induced stoppage, Multichoice SuperSport has announced the return of the English Premier League, Spanish LaLiga matches from June 2020.
SuperSport also said the broadcast of the matches will look and sound different from what viewers are used to, mainly because of stadium atmosphere change because no crowd is being allowed to watch the games yet.
It is thought that broadcasters will employ some "virtualisation of stands" to simulate images of fans in the stadium. There would be changes to camera positions and audio outputs. For example, some camera angles will now be shot from locations where they might hitherto obscure live-spectators.
The president of La Liga, Mr Javier Tebas, said that the broadcasting changes are necessary to provide fans watching from home enjoyable experiences.
