Vodacom Group Makes SA Business Stand-Alone To Be Led By Balesh Sharma
The Vodacom Group has commenced a vast restructuring of his businesses across Africa, starting with the separation of its South African company from the rest of Africa - making it a stand-alone, and appointing Mr Balesh Sharma as its Managing Director.
A statement issued by the company stated that this move was so the Vodacom Group can continue to "play a central role of overseeing all of its operations across Africa".
This restructuring arrangement follows the assumption of the management responsibilities of Vodafone Ghana's business, and the finalising of the joint venture arrangement with Kenya's Safaricom.
Vodacom's Group CEO, Mr Shameel Joosub, commented, saying the restructuring drive is a bit to set in place the necessary structures that would help his organisation deliver the drive to become a leader in Africa's technology, financial and digital services industry.
He affirms that the new arrangements will be placing more weight of developing new and innovative international portfolios and growth areas to diversify his organisation's revenue streams further.
