"Big Brother Naija" Renewed For Season 5 - With Covid-19 Friendly Production Practices!
Amid current Covid-19 pandemic situation, Multichoice Nigeria is confirming the renewal of its successful entertainment show, Big Brother Nigeria for its 5th season.
According to MNET West Africa - Multichoice division responsible for drama and entertainment - the Season 5 of "Big Brother Naija" is to be produced in Lagos - Nigeria, making it the second time that the show's season will be done in Nigeria. The first three seasons were shot and produced in Johannesburg, South Africa.
With regards to the possible impact of Covid-19 on the production of the show, executives at MNET say the production of the reality TV programme "will take the very stringent measure of global best practices."
One such measure will include doing online auditions with prospective candidate sending in a 2-minutes video for review.
Mr John Ugbe, CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria, commenting on the renewal of the show, reassured all stakeholder of his organisation interest in ensuring that the production process will be Covid-19 safe.
He also acknowledged his excitement at being able to commence production on what he regarded as one of Nigeria's best entertainment exports.
He confirmed that Big Brother Naija would run in Nigeria on the DStv platform, as well as satellite pay-TV services all over Africa.
