NIGERIA: Consumer Group Implores Multichoice Cease Proposed Tariff Hike!

A local consumer group in Nigeria - The Association of Telephone, Cable TV and Internet Subscribers (ATCIS) - have written to the management of  MultiChoice Nigeria to request that the operators of DStv and GOtv platform stop its intended increases in their tariff.

The subscriber group confirms that Multichoice Nigeria has finalised plans to increase the pricing of its products and services to align with the new Value Added Tax (VAT) of 7.5 per cent.

Multichoice Nigeria has confirmed the move to change its pricing to reflect the new VAT rules, and that this is due to take effect from June 1 and will affect subscription rates for its DStv and GOtv packages.
