Vodacom Group Chairman, Jabu Moleketi, To Step Down In July - Reports

Vodacom has announced that the Chairperson of the Vodacom Group, Jabu Moleketi, will step d down and retire from the mobile operator group's board at its upcoming annual general meeting that is set to be held in July. 

In an update to its shareholders, Vodacom said that the board expresses its thanks to Jabu for his exceptional leadership and valuable contributions to both Vodacom and its board over the past 11 years and wishes him success in his future endeavours.

It was also announced that Saki Macozoma, who is currently an independent Non-Executive Director, would be taking over the role of Chairperson of the Board with effect from Wednesday the 22nd of July 2020.

Vodacom said that Saki was originally appointed as a member of the Board of the Vodacom Group in July 2017. He is also the Chairman of the Nomination Committee and will now step down from his role in the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee.

David Brown will come on board as the lead independent Non-Executive Director.

Meanwhile, Thomas Reisten was reported to have resigned from the board with effect from the 31st of March. Clive Thomson and Pierre Klotz will join the board as independent Non-Executive Director and Non-Executive Director respectively as from the 1st of April.
