MGM To Roll Out SVOD Service In South Africa
In an effort to expand its catalogue of TV shows and movies internationally, the famed Hollywood studio, Metro Goldwyn Mayer (MGM), has announced that it will be launching a new SVOD and film service that will debut soon in South Africa.
The new service will be part of the mobile operator Vodacom’s Video Play Premium service and will be made available as an a la carte, standalone subscription Micro Pass.
The SVOD service will showcase MGM’s film and TV catalogue with titles that include The Hobbit, Teen Wolf, Get Shorty, The Pink Panther, Legally Blonde and The Handmaid’s Tale.
MGM’s a la carte service will cost at $3.28 for a monthly subscription, $1.39 for a weekly subscription, and less than $1.00 for a daily subscription.
Vodacom’s Video Play Premium service also includes a varied range of local and international content including, movies, TV shows, kids programming and music; and retails at $5.51 for a monthly subscription, $2.22 for a weekly subscription, and $1.39 for a daily subscription.
