Mozambique TVM To Roll Out International Channel In Portugal
Mozambique’s national public television channel, Mozambique TVM, will for the first time roll out an international channel all across Portugal, a board member of the company told the national radio station RM last week Wednesday.
Sergio Marcos, Mozambique TVM’s Executive Director, said that the main objective of the expansion to Portugal is basically to establish a bridge between the Mozambicans living in Mozambique and those living in Portugal.
The channel will officially be launched this Thursday, and a senior delegation that is being led by the Chairman of TVM’s board of directors Faruco Sadique Ibrahimo is already in Portugal for the launch ceremony.
According to Marcos, the new channel will be available in basic and affordable TV signal packages in Portugal as well as in other parts of Europe.
In addition to the exciting broadcasting news from Maputo, there are other exclusive new programs designed especially for the international channel to connect with Mozambicans overseas, according to reports.
Since Mozambique gained independence from the Portuguese colonial rule in 1975, Portugal has remained a preferred destination for many Mozambicans to work, study and live there.
