MultiChoice Innovation Fund Set To Gain New Beneficiaries

Following the rollout of the MultiChoice Innovation Fund last week in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa, the second in a series of regional seminars for this exciting new development and funding initiative took place in Cape Town earlier this week.

MultiChoice Group, in collaboration with the Western Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism and WESGRO, hosted SMEs and entrepreneurs.

The seminar aims to support the goals of the Innovation Fund by boosting innovation in the video entertainment and tech sector and unearthing new entrepreneurs who possess unique business ideas.

Calvo Mawela, the MultiChoice Group CEO said that he hoped the Innovation Fund would spur original thinking and new ideas that would lead to breakthrough moments for incoming entrepreneurs.

The aim of the regional seminars is to broaden the reach of the Innovation Fund to black entrepreneurs across South Africa. The workshops also offer a platform to identify new business prospects, understand unique industry challenges and highlight funding and business development opportunities.

The second seminar is said to have presented an excellent opportunity to meet with leading stakeholders, network with other entrepreneurs and learn about trends within the ICT and media sectors nationally and globally.

Mawela said that by developing and investing in entrepreneurs with innovative businesses ideas, MultiChoice is assisting in shaping the industries of the future.
