Airtel Changes Zambia’s Video Streaming Experience
Airtel Networks Zambia Plc has changed the video streaming experience for its subscribers by rolling out Airtel TV.
Speaking at the recent launch, Airtel’s Marketing Director Hussam Baday said that Airtel is committed to bringing innovative services and that the new Airtel TV App would enable subscribers to enjoy news on the go as well as other exciting programming such as music, movies, reality shows as well as documentaries which include Hollywood, BBC, Nollywood and Bollywood channels.
The Director-General of the Independent Broadcasting Authority (IBA) Josephine Mapoma, said that the launch of Airtel TV was proof that the broadcasting industry in Zambia is expanding at a rapid rate which is a welcome move.
The IBA commended Airtel TV and the value that it would bring to the broadcasting sector.
Airtel TV will be accessible to all of Airtel’s subscribers both on prepaid and post-paid with a data-enabled device and a registered SIM.
The customers will be able to download the Airtel TV app from the Apple Store or Google Play.
Baday also encouraged local TV stations and film producers to submit their content for increased visibility.
In attendance at the launch were the newly appointed Director of ZNBC Malolela Lusambo and ZICTA’s Director for Economic Regulation, Mulenga Chisanga.
