SuperSport Not Bidding For Ghana Premier League Broadcasting Rights -Reports
The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has revealed that SuperSport is not among the companies who are gunning for the broadcast rights of the Ghana Premier League.
Media reports had been doing the rounds claiming that the Pay-TV channel which falls under SuperSport International and MultiChoice Ghana had put in a bid for the broadcast rights of the league and were among companies that are in talks with the GFA.
SuperSport held the broadcast rights of the league for three years. They did a great job so many Ghanaians had been excited when it was mentioned among the companies interested in the rights to televise the games.
Mr Okraku has confirmed that seven media companies have contacted the GFA and SuperSport is not among those companies.
He also revealed that the bidding process is now complete and the winners would be announced next week.
GFA has stated that for this partnership, it is mainly looking for capacity in terms of reach.
Okraku added that the Association wants to ensure that the broadcasts of the games are available to everybody in the country.
