StarTimes Acquires Broadcast Rights For Emirates FA Cup And Community Shield Games

The pay-TV operator StarTimes has announced that it recently acquired the broadcasting rights for the Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield matches.

The company released a statement revealing that it had secured the transmission rights for these two football competitions in all languages, in all countries and on all its media platforms throughout sub-Saharan Africa until 2021.

The StarTimes Sports Director Shi Maochu said that this is a massive step for StarTimes because the Emirates FA Cup and the FA Community Shield are two of the most competitive national football events and the pay-TV operator is proud to offer them to its subscribers.

Shi Maochu added that StarTimes had been building a solid offer around football for 2020 with national competitions such as the Coppa Italia and Bundesliga, as well as other European events like Euro 2020 and the UEFA Europa League.

He pledged that the company would continue to acquire new events and bring the best value to its subscribers.

The 2019/2020 instalment of the Emirate FA Cup will be aired starting from the round 3 of the competition on Saturday, 4th of January 2020.

StarTimes will broadcast the matches on its eight sports channels, as well as on the StarTimes ON streaming application, live and in HD across Sub-Saharan Africa.
