MTN Business Namibia Gears Up For Mobile Network Launch

MTN Business Namibia has announced that it is still moving ahead with plans to roll out a mobile network, after receiving all the relevant regulatory approval.

The Managing Director of MTN Business Namibia, Elia Tsouros, said that the project had been two-and-a-half years in planning.
He added that MTN had recently changed its strategy in favour of additional control on its side.

Tsouros revealed that MTN would have a device strategy with its own channels and would also franchise some stores.

The mobile giant has an entire market strategy serving both Post-paid and Pre-paid customers throughout Namibia.
It has also rolled out two additional sites in Walvis Bay as well as in Swakopmund and is in the process of rolling out two other sites in northern Namibia.

The telco that had no infrastructure in Namibia eight months ago continues to invest in its infrastructure in the country, aiming to benefit all Namibians.

At the coast, MTN used its partnership programme to partner with XDIT, which is now selling MTN products and services.

MTN’s partner programme is an initiative that allows local ICT service providers to become a part of the telco’s products and solutions offering.

Last year, the Communications Regulatory Authority of Namibia (CRAN) granted MTN the 084 number range.
