StarTimes And Kenya Film Commission Make Waves With New Voting App

The Kenya Film Commission has announced its new partnership with the Chinese media company, StarTimes. The partnership was announced ahead of the Kalasha International film awards, where voting for the shortlisted films during the public screening will be through the development of an app.

The Commission has selected StarTimes ON, the online mobile application as a strategic platform where all shortlisted films will be uploaded for public voting from the 30th October to the 30th November.

StarTimes ON’s Pan Africa Online Film Festival (PAOFF) provides a unique platform for growing the public awareness of shortlisted Kalasha awards entries within and beyond the borders of Kenya while keeping the voting process as transparent as possible.

This comes at a critical time where the advancement of technology is evident in Kenya’s economies and is vital for the success of registering the country’s digital footprint.

The Kenya Film Commission said that it is on a mission to develop a vibrant local TV and film industry and market.
The Commission added that the public also has a role to play in the development, promotion and marketing of the film industry.
