Namibia’s NBC Restores All Full Radio Services
Just one month after the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation revealed austerity measures and cut down on both TV and radio services in an effort to decrease costs, the broadcaster has now restored radio services fully.
NBC’s spokesperson Umbi Karuaihe-Upi made this announcement in a media release that was issued recently.
She said this decision was made during a deliberation between Namibia’s Ministry of Information and Communication Technology and the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC), where an agreement was reached to fully restore the broadcaster’s entire programming of its radio services by Wednesday, 16 October 2019.
Namibia's national broadcaster had cut down the broadcasting of full services for TV and radio with the transmission of broadcasting ending at 21h00 daily.
The statement issued by Umbi Karuaihe-Upi confirmed that the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) is delighted to announce to the citizens of Namibia that it was now in a position to restore all of its radio services back to the regular broadcast schedule.
The statement further noted that TV broadcasting was expected to follow suit once further progress is announced by the NBC’s shareholders.
