BBC Lifestyle To Offer Advertising Opportunities Across Sub-Saharan Africa
BBC Studios has announced that it plans to offer advertising prospects on its BBC Lifestyle channel for clients across sub-Saharan Africa in countries including Ghana, Nigeria, Ghana, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia and Kenya.
As from Sunday, 1 September, advertisers in the above-mentioned countries will be able to influence modern female audiences through a separate BBC Lifestyle commercial feed that will air across sub-Saharan Africa, except for the South African Development Community (SADC).
The feed will allow advertisers to target consumer needs through a combination of traditional advertising slots and also tailored creative solutions. DStv’s media sales will manage the sales of advertising on behalf of BBC Studios.
Advertisers that are targeting South African and SADC audiences will be able to reach those audiences through the BBC Lifestyle feed for those regions.
BBC Lifestyle’s colourful mix of series includes Home, Food, Design, Dating and Romance.
The channel can be accessed throughout sub-Saharan Africa on the DStv Premium, Compact and Compact Plus tiers.
Sarah-Jane Harling, the Advertising Account Director for Africa at BBC Studios, said that this is a significant step as it offers brands the chance to align with BBC Lifestyle’s premium global and local content and also further extends its reach across sub-Saharan Africa.
