Popular Zimbabwe Drama, Tunga, Goes 3D
One of Zimbabwe’s top producers Willard “Slimaz” Magombedze said that his popular drama series Tunga, which airs on ZBC-TV on Saturdays, has taken a brand new outlook in terms of improving cinematography and costumes in an effort to make the show internationally marketable.
Magombedze said that the series will be taking a new shape due to the improvements made to its cinematography and noted that the Gwaku warriors on the show are now clad in new costumes.
The producer said that he intends to produce a high-quality series which the fans will instantly fall in love with because he now has a new and professional way of telling the story and filming.
He explained that his team’s focus is not just on entertaining the local audience, but also on producing a series that can also be enjoyed beyond the country’s borders.
Magombedze revealed that he would be adding 3D elements and special effects, something which has never been done on a Zimbabwean television series.
The TV producer thanked the show’s fans and encouraged Tunga’s audience across Zimbabwe to stay tuned in for the upcoming episodes to see the new developments.
The drama series is about a young man who fights for women’s rights and then discovers that he is the leader of the most feared and respected Gwaku Warriors.
