Nigeria: StarTimes And VSKIT Collaborate To Host New TV Show, Voice To Fame

The short video sharing platform, VSKIT has revealed that it has entered into a partnership with the pay-TV operator, StarTimes, to host the first edition of ‘Voice to Fame,’ a singing competition in Nigeria.

The programme will hit television airwaves soon and will feature eight contestants competing against some of Nigeria’s top celebrities, for a chance to win the grand prize of $5500.00.

The Voice to Fame show will also feature hilarious re-enactments of classic movies, lip-synching and rap battles. Popular TV Celebrities – Nkechi Blessing, Yakubu Mohammed, Mide Martins and Charles Okocha who is popularly known as “Igwe 2pac” will also be competing for the prize with the contestants, and this guarantees an entertaining and enriching TV experience for the show’s audience.

Speaking at a media briefing, the Marketing Manager of VSKIT Nigeria, Sean Shu, said that the brand is thrilled to create this new and fascinating platform for Africa’s talented youth to showcase their skills.

Shu noted that as the title sponsor of the ‘Voice to Fame’ competition, VSKIT aims to provide the right platform for young talents from across Africa with exceptional vocal skills and star potential to be given a shot at fame. He added that VSKIT would also continue to develop and roll-out more talent-focused initiatives, and co-branding campaigns that would create superstars out of Africa’s budding talents.

The show will consist of 13 episodes and will feature four contestants weekly, with viewers having the opportunity to vote for their favourite performances.
Contestants who receive the highest votes will move on to the next stage, while the performer with the least votes by the end of the week gets evicted.
