Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation Produces Fresh Original TV Shows In Preparation For Digital Migration
Zimbabwe Broadcasting Corporation has been creating fresh, and new television shows that have been funded by the Broadcasting Authority of Zimbabwe as part of the country’s Digital Broadcasting migration project.
The TV programmes that range from soapies, game shows, dramas, game shows, music shows and lifestyle programmes have improved content on ZTV while also empowering Zimbabwe’s up and coming filmmakers.
Already broadcasting this season is the exciting drama series “Diaspora”, directed by Eddie Sandifolo, the multi-award-winning Zimbabwean actor.
The drama series explores the social issues that arise when people travel abroad looking for greener pastures.
The series tells the tale of a couple whose relationship is destroyed by relatives when they marry poor, and the husband is unable to provide for his new bride. The wife who is then shipped off to the Diaspora, soon discovers that she is pregnant, but has no way of returning home to her now former husband and is unable to make contact with him.
ZBC TV said that it had worked tirelessly with budding actors and actresses to put the series together.
The broadcaster also added that even though this was Eddie Sandifolo’s first shot at directing, he did amazing work, and this was a sign that when given the opportunity, Zimbabwe’s broadcasting industry can grow.
