Mnet Launches Pop-Up Channel East Africa Movie Fest For All DStv Subscribers
Mnet has announced that East Africa Movie Fest, a brand new pop-up channel featuring films from East Africa, will be available on DStv Channel 197 from the 10th December 2018 up until the 03rd February 2019 to all DStv customers on Compact, Compact Plus and Premium. The channel will showcase new movies for five hours daily for eight weeks, opening each day at 15:00 hrs.
The channel will show films from the Pearl Magic Uganda channel, Maisha Magic Bongo and Maisha Magic East channels.
First-class Kenyan productions will include 'Stella', a movie about a spoilt teenager who gets whatever she wants until an unforeseen twist of events changes her life. Struggling to cope, she ends up moving to the village to live with her aunt where she has no alternative option left but to learn about family and hard work to survive.
'Stella' will be aired for the first time on 19 December at 16:00 hrs.
'Uriah' is a film that is produced by the leading Kenyan film producer Likarion Wainania.
It is a story about a witty young man named Oscar who will do whatever it takes to steal the heart of Uriah, the woman of his dreams. He plans to play a series of pranks to get her to notice him, but his ex-girlfriend does not make things easy as she is still very much in love with Oscar.
'Uriah' will be shown on 20 December at 21:35 hrs.
'Flowers and Bricks' is a movie about Job, a struggling but honest foreman trying to build a small house on a plot that is in the outskirts of town. Job becomes entangled with bureaucratic government agencies, chaotic banks, crooked contractors and evil brokers while at the same time that he is dealing with all that drama, his wife is cheating on him.
'Flowers and Bricks' will premiere on 15 January 2019 at 20:30 hrs.
