MultiChoice Malawi Pledges To Support Local Filmmakers
MultiChoice Malawi has made a promise to support local filmmakers and ensure that they get their content played on DStv.
The promise of commitment was made recently by Gus Banda, MultiChoice Malawi’s General Manager, at their year-end showcase that was held at the Bingu International Convention Center in Lilongwe.
The General Manager said that MultiChoice would commit to bringing many investments in their creative economies to young people and their artistic talents which in so doing would reinforce their continued commitment to making a meaningful difference in the filmmaking industry and ultimately to enriching lives.
Banda also thanked the public for supporting their industry-wide initiative, The MultiChoice Talent Factory, which was rolled out in May this year saying that it had greatly benefited future African storytellers.
The General Manager shared that the year ahead promised to be even better than 2018 as his team attempts to localise the MultiChoice brand by supporting and encouraging local filmmakers to get their content aired on the Zambezi Magic platform amongst many other local investment highlights.
Banda said that MultiChoice is committed to showcasing the best of African content all across the continent.
He continued to say that the digital age meant that the pay-TV operator was now in a position to take African stories to the world and create a global market for African talent.
Banda added that MultiChoice aimed not only to understand what the future holds but also to make a significant contribution towards shaping it for the better.
