MTN Names Its New CTO And Other Executives
MTN has announced that it has appointed a group of new top executives, including a brand new Group Chief Technology and Information Officer.
Charles Molapisi will join the telecoms giant as the newly appointed MTN group CTO effective from the 1st January 2019, following Babak Fouladi’s recent resignation.
Molapisi has more than 16 years of experience in the telecommunications sector and has previously held a number of senior management positions in MTN Zambia and MTN Nigeria.
He has a Master’s Degree in Business Leadership from the University of South Africa, a Bachelor of Commerce Degree obtained at the University of the Witwatersrand and a post-graduate Diploma in Business Management from the University of KwaZulu-Natal.
MTN has also placed Nikos Anngelopoulos in the role of group CIO, a position in which he will be in charge of maintaining and managing the standard IT architecture all across the company.
Other executives that have been appointed at MTN include David Gilarranz as MTN Digital CEO, Nompilo Morafo as Group Corporate Services and Sustainability Executive and Motselisi Molapo as the Internal Audit and Forensics Executive.
MTN’s Group CEO, Rob Shuter said that he was confident that Charles, Nikos, David, Nompilo and Motselisi would bring valuable experience and skills to their new roles, which would place them in good standing to lead their respective business units and to also support the delivery of MTN’s BRIGHT strategy.
