South Africa: Uzalo Bids Farewell To Three Cast Members as Season 4 Wraps Up
SABC1’s Uzalo has wrapped production on its 4th season with three cast members who have left the series that is filmed in Durban, South Africa. Two new faces are set to join the weekday primetime drama series.
The interesting show produced by Stained Glass will start filming its 5th season in February 2019 while bidding farewell to Nokuthula Mabika (Thobile), Nay Maps (Mxolisi Mdletshe), and Glen Gabela (the recast Mfundisi Mdletshe) who have left the show.
The producers of Uzalo say the changes are necessary to keep the show interesting and that some existing roles "will be amplified"to spice things up for the audience.
The Head Writer of Uzalo, Bongi Ndaba was at the press release, and she said that Season 4 had brought significant evolution and exciting storylines to the viewers and that the incredible cast had delivered way above expectation, every time.
She admits that saying goodbye to Nokuthula Mabika, Nay Maps and Glen Gabela has been a tremendously hard thing to do but states that the production team in its entirety remains so grateful for the energy and dedication that the three actors brought to Uzalo. Ndaba says the departing cast members were a significant part of the show’s 2018 success and that the remaining cast and crew of Uzalo wish them all the best as they venture on to other projects.
The Executive Producer for Stained Glass Pictures, Mmamitse Thibedi says the drama has a lot to live up to with season 5, and everyone is excited about the challenge.
She declares that Uzalo promises to continue to shine in its new fresh and exciting season.
