African Movie Channel Introduces Production Hub
African Movie Channel (AMC) has created a production division, AMC Original Productions (AMCOP). This division is set to officialise AMC’s journey into developing and producing its own movies and TV series. The African film industry has become exposed to a broader, international market, so it is imperative that industry players continue to invest in its expansion to cater to its growing audience.
African Movie Channel is already known for its Nollywood movies and its fascinating content catalogue. AMC is made up of three channel, namely, AMC Series, African Movie Channel (AMC) and Nolly Africa. The platform has intensified its international presence to keep the viewers entertained with exciting movies, series, talk shows and plenty more. AMCOP has a unique way of telling African stories that are written by indigenous talent, and this will help in elevating the continent’s film industry.
AMC is predicting that, through its collaboration with prominent Nigerian producers, AMCOP will add approximately 20 exclusively-owned films to its library by the end of 2018.
Yvonne Dublin-Green, the Head of Channels spoke up on the new development and said that the creation of AMCOP had been long-awaited and that it was a natural progression for AMC.
She added that as a global player, it had always been a priority to provide content that is of superior quality, so teaming up with esteemed filmmakers, actresses and actors and actresses was an essential aspect of the journey to excellence because showcasing African talent has always been at the heart of AMC.
Lola Onigbogi, a founding director of AMC, expressed her excitement by saying that working with the talented filmmakers had been an incredible experience and that AMC looks forward to working with even more filmmakers of this calibre, to provide the kind of content that the modern African audiences demand.
AMCOP movies will kick off from 7th December and every Friday after that exclusively on African Movie Channel.
