SABC Secures Live Broadcast Rights To Some English Premier League Matches
The South Africa Broadcaster Corporation (SABC) has announced that it has secured the rights to live broadcasts of some of the games of the prestigious English Premier League (EPL).
What this means that EPL fans in South Africa can now watch EPL matches on terrestrial television on Saturdays in the afternoon (by-passing the need for access to DStv or SuperSport).
Announcing this move, SABC's general manager for TV channels, Mr David Makubyane, said the SABC is delighted to have the opportunity to provide free access to some of the globe's sporting platform of which the EPL is a jewel.
Mr Makubyane said the games would be on SABC 3 with the first game being that of Arsenal and West Ham, followed by the Burnley and Manchester United game.
The SABC believes that having secured these live games could help it achieve its objectives and revive its flagging fortunes.
