Kenya Get's Its First Free-To-Air Children TV
Akili Kids - a TV channel from Kenyan based Akili Network has debuted as the first dedicated kids-only free-to-air TV channel in the country.
The promoters have described it as the children TV content network packed with "imaginative learning programmes to be trusted by parents and beneficial to the children.
President and co-founder of Akili Kids, Mr Jesse Soleil hailed the launch of the Kids TV channel as the result of years of careful strategising and hard work. He confirms that his content will be distributed digitally to TVs, mobile devices and across internet platforms.
Mr Soleil projected that forty per cent of Akili Kids programming would be produced locally in Kenya over the next three years. He is happily looking forward to being able to contribute to the Kenyan creative economy.
Also speaking on the subject, Mr Khilen Nathwani, Founder and CEO of Kay Foundation (who are the lead investor with Akili Network) said that they believe that Akili Kids TV channel has the potential to positively impact childhood experience that would lead to more significant life outcome for millions of children.
