Mr Mlamli Booi is the Chief Executive Officer of SENTECH SOC Limited, a leading electronic content distribution company in South Africa. Mr Booi, a Professional Electrical Engineer with more than twelve years’ experience in engineering, policy, regulatory and management, is the founder and former CEO of Z-Coms.
He holds an MSc degree in Electrical Engineering from UCT and a postgraduate diploma in Project Management. He has held several advisory roles including advising the SA Government on telecommunication policy, DTI on BPO and call centre market, JP Morgan on the telecommunications landscape and business model, developing a licensing policy and universal access policy for the SADC region. In 1997 he was appointed by the late President Nelson Mandela into the IBA Council to adjudicate the first free to air television license in SA.
He was also part of the team involved in licensing commercial and community radio stations as part of the IBA council. Mr Booi worked for Orbicom as Systems Engineer and Technology Manager, M-Net as Transmission Engineer, Reutech Radar Systems as Research and Development Engineer and Project Manager, Plessey as Research and Development Engineer.
