Fox Networks Group Restructures, Announces New Executive Team In Africa

Giant media firm, Fox Networks Group (FNG) Europe and Africa have installed a new executive team structure for the business in Africa with Evert van der Veer joining the team as General Manager and Vasilis Iliopoulos as Senior Vice President for FNG Africa.

Vasilis Iliopoulos, the new Senior Vice President for the African business, joined Fox in 2011. His responsibility includes but is not limited to a focus on the accelerated expansion of linear/non-linear branded entertainment, FOX Sports and local content production and National Geographic Partners across key markets in East, West and South regions of the continent.

Iliopoulos who played a huge role in the development and launch of FNG Africa’s West African Football Tournament and FOX Sports Africa Boxing initiatives will function in Africa alongside his role as General Manager, FNG Greece.

Evert van der Veer joins Fox Networks with a rich experience. From iFlix, as Head of Content, Africa and the Middle East, he was responsible for content operations, content marketing, and content acquisition including local productions. He also had a long tenure at Viacom International Media Networks Africa, where he served as Vice President for Comedy Central and the creation and execution of the programming and acquisition strategy to launch BET (Black Entertainment Television) in 2015.

Fox Networks Group in Africa runs eight distinct Pay-TV channel brands including FOX, Fox Sports, National Geographic, Nat Geo Wild,  and Baby TV, along with the non-linear service FOX+ and National Geographic+. Across the region, FNG Europe and Africa operate 154 channels as well as numerous digital services, from 25 offices.
