Africanews TV Clocks Two
The award-winning channel is unique among the media landscape in sub-Saharan Africa. The platform is already a go-to source for news to millions of Africans who are in search relevant and information that is free of any external influence.
Whether on television screens, on the website or through its mobile applications, Africanews is produced by Africans and broadcasted from the headquarters in Pointe-Noire, in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
Since it launched, Africanews has won two awards the first being Best Launch” at the Grand Prix des Médias 2016 and the second “Best New Channel Launch” at the Content Innovation Awards 2016).
Africanews has been known to maintain excellence as reports on the continent have seen steady growth. The channel has enriched and furthered its content delivery with two new weekly magazines launched in 2017 and 2018.
Results from the latest Africascope 2017 survey also highlighted the excellent performance of the channel since its launch, with a yearly audience of 6.3 million people, up from 2016. Africanews attains its best in French-speaking Africa, where its awareness rate now rises to 45%, revealed by a weekly audience of about 3.2 million viewers.

Africanews has increased its distribution in 2017, and in sub-Saharan Africa, it offers its services in 38 countries and 11.7 million homes owing to partnerships with leading pay-TV platforms in the continent, including Canal+ Africa, Kwesé TVStartimes and Azam TV.
With the expansion of its digital offering in 2017 Africanews has to launch its Apps (January 2018 for Android devices and July for iOS devices and ), providing its audience with the latest African and international news anywhere and anytime.
